I might try to reload firmware and see using the FW update sticky process.
I would swap out cables too, try new CAT5e.
Give a DIR-825 a try too. Keep us posted.

I did try a reflash using the guide mentioned, but it was still failing. :( it's  shame this isn't working like it did a few weeks ago. I bought this because of the built-in NAS feature.

Hmm...only other thing I can think of is to update your NIC drivers and swap cables out to be sure. This happens on everything you try to connect?

I might all up DLink and ask for an RMA man. They might be able to fix it.

Keep us posted.

I've done the cable swap and driver updates too, still no dice. :( The router reboot used to be every few weeks, now to every day and finally got worse to every few hours just to get wireless and wired clients to connect and get a DHCP reservation or any address. Very abnormal behavior for a router, and for DHCP to just outright refuse to assign addresses, even reserved ones.

I will have to call them up, I think my router might be beyond the warranty period though U.U

Call and ask about it. Might be worth a try. Let us know how it goes.

I think that D-Link should sort out the DHCP drop out issue, it seems to be a bug within the firmware followed by other router devices firmware updates, as I've been trying to find a solution for this for ages, which revert to me having static assign the I.P on the devices than oppose to use the DHCP server. The reason I believe it's the firmware, is because my friend has the same issue as me on a DIR-615, I even feel bad for recommending them... The DHCP will stop assigning I.P devices after a certain threshold (1-2 days), an hard shut down makes it working again. But I can see in the forum I'm not alone, I tried all possibility and methods that are available. I'm currently a network adminstrator using an Draytek router for our network and I just cannot figure out this D-Link bug

My friend D-Link-815 isn't EOL, I just stating there is a bug that has follow on through-out D-Link products with this "DHCP Issue". I cannot recommend D-Link router to anyone, though I should be posting this in the 815 section but giving you the heads up for your in-house developers.

My friend, if you had given a bit more information regarding model number and posting in the correct forum, maybe this could be helped more and we could give more feedback and suggestions. We don't know for sure if the 815 has this issue or if what you seem to be talking about is being caused by something else. Most problems we see are external or user configuration problems. DLink routers work very well when properly connected and set up. There only seems to be a few that have problems and most of them are resolved by users here in the forums, and again, once we have all the details and if posters can give correct information in the first place, this helps us give better feedback and suggestions and we usually get everyone going and up and running. If your really concerned about a supposed issue with the 815, why not contact DLink directly and speck to someone about it.

Your recommendations can only be taken with a grain of salt as most are unfounded in cases like this. You and a few others seem to be the only experiencing this supposed issue. Others are not.

Good luck.
