HELP-->DAP2590 drops wifi connection daily
« on: May 10, 2011, 05:04:00 PM »

I have a DAP2590 setup which on a daily basis will lose it's connection. (i have tested with 2 separate DAP 2590's which cause the exact same issue)
My laptop and my devices will loses WIFI connectivity.
The AP does not show up in available WIFI networks on my laptop or devices.  But, i can still connect to the AP through the LAN port, and everything looks good.  The laptop can only see the WIFI network once i reboot the AP, than a couple of hours later, the exact same thing everything loses wifi connectivity and the SSID is no longer visible.
So i have to constantly reboot the AP.
I have check the AP logs and they do not show anything except a couple of DEAUTH: STA, AUTH: STA sucess with a couple of MAC addresses.  I am not sure what is causing the AP to lose it's WIFI untill reboot.

any ideas..thanks

I'm seeing the same (or at least very similar problem).  I have put it in another post because yours is old and I would hope somebody at DLink pays attention to these boards and will see it.

Link>Wireless Installation Considerations
What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N on 5Ghz?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.

Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?

Turn off WISH, and WPS.
Try turning off Short GI, WLAN Partition, and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it.
Enable WMM Enable

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
