Router no longer seems to respond, provide internet access
« on: March 01, 2011, 11:46:02 AM »

Our DIR-600 has encountered a serious problem

First and foremost, it no longer allows our computers to connect to the internet (so we have only one desktop computer connected, directly through the modem, as connecting it through the wireless unit doesn't work). Also, upon plugging it in, the router's power light does not come on, but the 1-4 computer lights come on as well as the internet (globe) light comes on.

Attempting to rectify the problem, we tried reinstalling the software (which was mysteriously absent from our computer, as if it had been uninstalled). The installation process presented me with the message that the router had to be reset to factory conditions. Trying to reset it, I received no response whatsoever from the router (I believe lights were supposed to flash as it rebooted).

If I could get any help regarding this problem, it would be most appreciated.
