Video Encoding
« on: October 16, 2008, 08:39:58 PM »

I was curious to know if anyone could give me a hand on what containers have worked successfully, and what were the specs used to have them encoded. Oh, and what software was used to make the successful conversion. You could use the following as a template.

Video Codec: ie Xvid, AVI, WM9..etc
Bitrate:
FrameRate:
Aspect Ratio:
Audio Codec:
Bitrate:
Sample Rate:

I believe we can have a standard template on what works, it would make it a lot easier to enjoy this piece of hardware. The main reason I am asking for this is because I have a few .avi files that won't play and I figured I'd try Movie Maker 6 (using Vista, came with the laptop) but I don't want to encode everything to WM9. As it is I have Divx files that won't work and I'm not happy about that. So if we can collectively come together and use the above format, it would not just help me but everyone.
