Title: My WiFi strength dropped on 2 bars suddenly
Post by: TunaTrend on March 10, 2016, 05:05:29 AM
On my android 4.2. tablet, in the last two days, WiFi shows only 2 bars and with that I can't open any website.
On my laptop it went from 5 to 4 bars. So it looks like a signal/router issue, not the receiving devices.
I'm placed next to the D-Link Router, only a wall is splitting us as it was before.
I tried WiFi Analyzer and transferred signal to a free channel, as far away from my neighbors, but still the same.
I used also WiFi signal Booster from Google Play on Android device, still no luck.
What can I do now? Please advise. Can dust mess up router, should I clean it with air spray, I don't know - I'm wild guessing.

Hardware Version : B1    Firmware Version : 2.01

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.
