Title: How to map a USB drive to an external network PC using dlinkddns.com
Post by: Nokill3d on June 24, 2015, 07:45:55 AM
I have an DIR-626L and I mapped an USB drive to my local network, after I have read http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46133.15

Now, I want to map USB drive to an PC which is not in an local network using dlinkddns.com.
I can access the USB drive from browser with username.dlinkddns.com:port but the interface it's not user-friendly.

You can use www.mydlink.com (http://www.mydlink.com) as a service to access the read only portion of a connected USB drive. Mapping drives from external sources is not supported. DNS products support this I believe using FTP and other service protocols.

Now I use www.mydlink.com just to manage the connection list.

For mobile devices, there is mydlink cloud, Shareport, D-Link Media and mydlink view apps that can access the USB drive contents. See if any of these are available for your mobile devices. It's been a while since I've used them on my iPhone.
