Installed he Shareport utility on a Vista PC and a desktop running XP. Connected a USB HDD. I am able to access from one PC at a time. If I try connecting from a different PC, it shows the drive is in use and I have to disconnect before I can use it on another PC.
Can the USB drive be used by ONLY ONE PC at a time? This seems like a major limitation of the Shareport.

Correct, Shareport is NOT NAS software and it is NOT print server software. It is USB over Ethernet. USB is a specifically master-to-slave protocol.

Thanks for the clarification. I wish this was stated clearly in the product data sheet and the user manual for the DIR-628.
