Title: DES-1210-52, ME firmware, Full-managed CLI, DHCP-Relay
Post by: darkagent on May 04, 2011, 08:56:11 PM
Hi,
I'm from Russia. D-Link offers in our country DES-1210-28 and DES-1210-52 switches as low-cost devices. For DES-1210-28 they preseneted ME (metro ethernet) firmware with full-managed CLI and DHCP Relay capabilities. But for the "same" device, DES-1210-52, there's no such firmware. It seems, that those  devices have same chipset and same functional capabilities, but why there's no ME firmware for 1210-52?
We are (not only i or our company, other Ru-companies also) very interested in implementation dhcp-relay and full-cli in 1210-52 (or only dhcp-relay). We're in need of low-cost multiport solutions with dhcp-relay and cli implemented, but such solutions as DES-3052 or DES-3552 are too much expensive.
With dhcp-relay and full-cli implemented, DES-1210-52 would be the best solution in low-cost multiport segment, and our plans for this devices calculated by hundreds, perhaps even up to thousand or more.
We look forward to you, because your representatives in Russia have ignored appeals on the matter or responds that nothing is planned

p.s.
I am terribly sorry, but I don't speak English at all - and this poor so-called English writing is something less of a worthy thing that I would dare show, really. My imperfect, ugly English is barely enough to properly express my somewhat confused thoughts, not to mention being able to define them clearly and flexibly. Even though I can manage some considerable gibberish, that's sure not even close to being English-like . Yes, my fellow... I fear I don't speak  English at all.
