Out of Memory at line:134
« on: August 10, 2009, 05:04:57 PM »

I just picked up a DCS-950 camera off of e-Bay and while the camera works great on the local network (if I browse to http://192.168.2.24, I enter my credentials everything works fine) I set my HTTP port on the configuration menu to 8084. So if I browse to http://192.168.2.24:8084 on my local network, again, everything works fine.
Now I'm at work. I have my router configured to forward http://my.domain.com:8084 to 192.168.2.24
If I browse to http://my.domain.com:8084, I get the login screen. But when I enter my credentials, and hit Apply, I get a popup that says "Windows Internet Explorer, Out of memory at line:134"
I have tried this on 2 separate computers and gotten the same message. Both of these machines are running IE7.0.5730.13
What makes this really weird is that I opened the same url on a third computer that is running IE7.0.5730.11 and it works. I can see the camera image with no problems at all...I then tried it on a 4th computer that is running IE6.0.3790.3959 and I can view the camera with no problems either.
I then took a 5th computer and installed IE8.0.6001.18702 and am able to view the camera as well...
Is there a known issue with IE7.0.5730.13? If so, then I'll upgrade to IE8, otherwise, what is the issue here? Note in all cases, the OS has been various flavors of XP SP2 and SP3.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with this error code. I would recommend updating to IE8 on one of the PCs and see if it corrects the issue.

OK. I think I narrowed down the cause of this error. It is a problem with the CSViewer Control, which is the DLink add-on for IE browser to view the camera image in the browser. This is the ActiveX control CSViewer.ocx. I think that the dview application that I installed after installing the activex control overwrote this control...I'm going to try an uninstall of the dview app again and see if I can view the 950 .

I found one CSViewer.ocx file in the BIN directory in the dview install folder. I uninstalled dview and deleted the dview install folder to make sure that everything started clean. I browsed to the webpage for the camera, downloaded and installed the CSViewer.CAB file. That deposited the CSViewer.ocx file into the C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files folder. The version that it deposits is 2.24.730.2007.

I try browsing the camera webpage again and I get that out of memory error This is happening on two of my computers.
The VaPgCtrl add-on for the 5300 seems to be working fine. It's just the one for the 950  that is giving me problems.

I think somebody needs to get in touch with the developers and find out what is happening at line 134 and fix it.

Is the latest firmware running on the DCS-950?

Just another input: I found that the latest update of the odx have created the issue. Oddly, it does not always create a problem. I am running Vista - which have the problem - and my XP computer that does NOT have the problem
