As I mentioned in another thread, my A2 has locked up and rebooted after 11 days of uptime.  It had more, but I guess it rebooted also.

Same settings as all of my testing...

Was nice for a bit.

Seems promising for A1 users. I will be glad to test my A2 once more A2 reviews come in (yes, I'm being a bit cheap) just to be cautious.

HW A2
Seem to be dropping the wireless connection more often with this router than with the linksys wrt150n running dd-wrt firmware.  The connection being dropped is the eyetv between my iphone and my macpro.

Our new RMA'ed A2 with FW version 1.14 has locked up on the wireless side requiring a reboot once since we have received it. When it did lock up there were three wireless laptops and my sons xbox 360 connected to it at the same time for hours before it locked up so it was under the greatest load it ever sees in our home. It has been up 5 days now since the reboot with no problems. I did notice that the A2 seems to be cooler to the touch as compared to the A1 it replaced .

Everything seems fine for me as well (A1) on the WAN and LAN side of things.  The only thing that needs fixing is the wireless errors I get...I had none on 1.02 but once I upgraded to this beta, I suddenly have them.

Spoke too soon.  Just had the router reboot itself sometime last night.  Total uptime was about 8 days...have a feeling that the wireless was the cause as nothing else was connected to it at the time and it's the only area where I am getting substantial errors....

The error in the log shows "Wireless schedule init" at the time of the reboot so obviously caused by the wireless somehow.

A1 user.

I've never gotten the lockups that others have had with the v1.2x releases, but I did notice that the Wireless-N range and throughput really tanked once I upgraded to v1.20.  v1.21 B03 is better (at least it doesn't lose the DAP-1555 anymore) but still not quite as good as pre-1.2x.

Otherwise everything is working great here!

What firmware are you running?

Lycan, as I noted in my earlier post we are running FW version 1.14. That is what came installed on the A2 and I have decided not to change it unless it gives us problems. Been up 8 days now since the reboot with no further reboots. Have had all three laptops and the xbox live connected three or four times in the past 8 days without further problems. 8)

Lycon pardon me, I now realize that I should only be posting here if I am using the FW 1.21 B3 on our new A2 as that is the subject of this thread.

I have a newer beta that is supposed to correct DNS relay.

Who would like to try it?

Good Day,

I am a A1 user. I was having some of the problems that others are having.  I am a noob when it comes to routers but am trying to learn.  I got my 4500 a week ago. I have 3 wireless computers, 1 hardwired and 2 hardwired xbox 360.  I wasn't having problems that I could see other than the transfer rate from 1 computer to another on the network was terrible, around 300kb/sec (wireless to wireless). I upgraded the firmware to 1.21b3 and was having the speed drop down to almost nothing and going back up, pages not loading on the internet when it was dropping off.  I disabled Advanced DNS Service and DNS Relay but that didn't make any difference. I also turned off game fuel and wish but that didn't make any difference either.  This would happen often so I changed a few settings and all has been good for the past 3 days.

What I did was:

1. Changed 802.11 mode to mixed, n/g only
2. Changed my wireless channel to 11
3. Changed channel width to auto 20/40 MHz

I use wireless all the time and download a lot.  Haven't had any problems since I did that for the dropping of speed and being cut off.  My wife uses the wired computer but not often, she hasn't said anything about it. I am still having a bit of trouble with file transfers within the network.  I changed the WPA to WPA2 only and AES.  This has doubled my transfer speed to the mid 600's kb/sec. My old USRobotics maxg router could transfer files at around 1.2mb/sec.  I can download on my computer or whatever, the kids are on xbox live playing games and on their computers at the same time and there is no problems. I have Advanced DNS and DNS Relay enabled, wish and game fuel enabled.  Don't know if what I did has anything to do with it or maybe it's just a fluke but it's working other than the transfer rate within the network.  I have a 15MB cable connection and the router is using every last byte of it so no complaints there.

Forgot to mention that my signal strength is very good, better than my old USRobotics.  Full bars on my computer's signal meter.  My other 2 computers have better signal to from this router(1 of them has a USRobotics G wireless card in it).  I realize I only had it for a week so maybe it will fall apart don't know, lol.  I have a finished basement so it's tucked away in the ceiling out of site.
