Hi,

I am working on connecting two laptops with a DWA-160 A2 usb wifi adaptor with Ad-hoc mode.

I am using "FileZilla" to transfer the files and see the transferring speed.

Surprisingly, I am getting 0.09MB/s for downloading and 0.9MB/s for uploading where the network connection shows 52mbps.

I need to have at least 2MB/s within 75m.

Please help me with this problem.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

Are you using the 160 as the connection point between the two LTs?
Any main host routers being used as well?
Can you test the connect by doing a file xfer using map drives and shared folders on the LTs and see what the xfer speeds is there? Is it the same as doing FileZilla?

Ensure you are using the latest drivers for the DWA.
PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
  • Disable any downloading client software managers and back ground programs, i.e. Torrents or similar.
