Title: two x DHP-1565 (AP) on same switch crashes network (what forum area?)
Post by: Jolly_J on June 08, 2013, 05:36:21 PM
Hi I have a cable modem connected into the WAN port of a DIR-655 (router) which is connected via the LAN port to a D-Link 8 port gigabit green switch which is then connected to two x DHP-1565s (as AP) via the LAN ports.
Trying to extend coverage with AP and Powerline.
Problem is whenever I try to turn on either of the two DHPs together network fails to respond.. switch off either APs and the network access come straight back. Router and Access Points are all on static IP addresses.
Router RT1 192.168.0.10
Access AP2 192.168.0.20
Access AP3 192.168.0.30
Admin usernames and passwords are all identical
SSIDs of all wireless setups are identical except for channels 1,6,11
Any ideas? Rgds J
PS DHP-1565 in AP mode has the D-Link 2012 bug...

What region are you located?

I'm wondering if having 2 1565's maybe not possible or having some compatibility or configuration issues on the same circuit. I would phone contact your regional D-Link support office and inquire about this.

I am in the UK and I have switched off the powerline comms as I am only trying to get the wireless AP functionality working at present. I will contact support as well. Does anybody else have a d-link based multi Access Point configuration that can compare configuration notes?
