ffp .5 question / best practices
« on: May 19, 2009, 09:03:49 AM »

with all the improvements in the new beta code for both the 323&343, the reasons for adding a 3rd party plug in are definitely decreasing, but i still see some good reasons to use ffp (i.e. ssh and better logging).

i am curious however as to the installation process of ffp over the dlink fw.  when i install ffp .5, i notice that many (5+) packages are skipped on install even though the ffp versions are newer than those that come in the stock D-link firmware (i'm using 1.08b as an example since it's the newest).

is there some way to go back and update those packages that are skipped post install, or set some switch upon ffp install to do this? perhaps a better question is to whether this should be done as i assume dlink has tested their code against the included packages?

thoughts?
