Title: DIR-822 GUI cycles in browser
Post by: fiddletownrob on July 12, 2018, 03:44:48 PM
After I access the router via http://dlinkrouter.local/Home.html it initially shows how many connected clients I have...shortly thereafter the count goes down to zero and the GUI recycles to the Admin sign-in screen. Any changes I've made to device names, reserved IP addresses, etc. are lost...I've tried using Chrome, Edge, and older IE...any suggestions?

Current Firmware Version: 1.10
Current Firmware Date: 2018-03-10T17:54:22

How many devices do you have connected?

Hello,

I'm in California
Factory reset performed after upgrading to latest FW
I have between 17-20 devices connected at a time (cameras, weather station, pads, phone, range extender, printers, home automation hub), I'm not a gamer...

Was this working before or did you just upgrade the router?

I would try this, disconnect everything from the router accept for 1 wired PC.
Download the v1.10 FW file again to the wired PC.
Do a factory reset.
Using IE11 or FF, go in and re-load the same FW file.
After it loads, factory reset and set up from scratch. I might skip the set up wizard this time. Manually set up the SSID and Name.
Then add a few devices then see how it does...
Let us know if it still happens...

Thank for getting back to me...this is (was) a new purchase to replace Netgear router the was going out.
I tried you suggestions then call Amazon for a replacement router, it arrived today with similar issues plus new ones:
1) as before, the connected devices count jumps all over then goes down to zero and the GUI recycles to the Admin sign-in screen
2) some of the reserved IP address don't get assigned to the correct device, therefore I can't access my home automation hub for instance
3) WPS fails to connect 3 of my devices, two are in the next room over from the router

My netgear router had none problems so I'm returning the routers to Amazon (once they get their site working again - LOL)

I thank you though for trying to help...

Wow, the 882 seems to be having issues out there. Strange. I presume a bad batch.

I would suggest giving the DIR-867 or 878 a try:

Sorry your having problems like this.  :-\

One more thing to try before you send one back, if you have time.
Please downgrade FW to v1.01 using the following procedure:
Emergency Recovery Mode (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.msg163599#msg163599)
