I saw a fix for this on the forums for the 935l but it didn't work for my 960l.
Does anyone know about this ? I'm about to return the unit.
Thanks

Which "fix"?
Did you log into the cameras f/w and adjust the image?
Is the camera in night vision mode or day mode?
-
The fix was to turn off "anti flicker", didn't work.
Yes, I have tried all brightness and contrast adjustment. I currently have it in Day only mode but have tried it in night only and auto with the same result.
Thanks for the response

Try a factory reset of the camera and set up from scratch?
Try a re-load of the FW and set up again?
What FW version is currently loaded?
-
I have tried factory reset with no luck.
Firmware is:
Camera Name DCS-960L
Time & Date 2016/06/01 17:36:44
Firmware Version v1.01.05
Hardware Version A1
Agent Version 2.0.19-b98

So, I'm really trying to discover if this is a defect in this unit or a defect in the entire Model Group.
Does anyone have a DCS-960l in a window pointed outside during the day and have viewable video ?
Thanks for any response

What region are you located? ???
There is v1.03 that you should try;
https://www.mydlink.com/download (https://www.mydlink.com/download)
I presume if this fails to clear the issue, you may have a faulty unit and would need to either return the unit and get another or RMA with D-Link.

Hmm reading release notes 1.02.01 addressed an overexposure issue. I t looks like I need to upgrade FW...thanks

Let us know how it goes. ;)

Does your night vision show color?
I have the original f/w, and my night vision shows color where there enough color (keyboard backlight, color lights (red/green/blue)..

I have 3 boxed 960l's that I think have a newer f/w. I'll check those out at some point. Not sure if I want to put them all on a entirely separate network or what yet.
Are you pointing yours through a window outside? Or did you mount it outside?
I have some 2230's pointed outside. They do very well image quality wise, being 2 MP cams. I do have a 2210L I need to play with.

mines in a window, get some reflection sometimes but its workable

Any status on this? ???

The fix for the all white imagine is changing the 50 or 60 hz to off.
-
Thanks for this tip. Hope it helps.

The fix for the all white imagine is changing the 50 or 60 hz to off.
This did indeed help! Cycled from 50Hz to 60Hz to Off. The exposure became correct on the "Off" Anti flicker setting.
The camera is on 1.04.02 firmware in Europe.
But this is really a strange decision on D-Link part. The interface looks like a mix of DCS-2332L and DCS-2630L interfaces, so it's strange that they did not keep the exposure modes of the DCS-2332L camera. (As an aside, I added it to D-ViewCam as if it were DCS-2332L, because DCS-960L is not in the package list)
-
Thanks for confirming this. ;)

this trick also worked for me, for some months, the video will be washed out with bright sunlight (960L A1, firmware 1.04) when pointed to our garage.
solution was to turn OFF the Anti Flicker and the video immediately becomes clear. I thought 960L was bad haha. so this solution worked well

Glad it worked for you too. Enjoy.
