FTP Error
« on: November 16, 2015, 07:37:03 AM »

Hi All.

I'm been using my DCS-2330L moderately successfully for some time.  Remote servers can connect to it and pull live video.

I am having problems with FTP upload however. I know it is connecting to the remote server because it IS creating on the ftp server whatever directory I have selected (so long as I don't use a "/" before the directory name).

However, if i use the 'Test' button at the top I get a 'Test Error' message.  It does not save either video clips or images when an active event occurs either.

My firmware version is 1.10.07, my hardware version is 'A'.  Thanks for any guidance.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool: DHCP

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

HW ver: A (read in 'setup' tab of control software)
Firmware: 1.10.07
Region: North America (USA)

Router: Sophos SG 105
Wireless: not being used
Distance: wired connection so not relevant i think, but maybe 50 ft

**UPDATE**
shows a 'Test OK' for some servers, (my web hosting), but a 'Test Error.' for my security camera management ftp.  I can connect to both and transfer files fine with FIleZilla.  The camera FTP does delete the files uploaded after they are uploaded, maybe this is causing the error?

As i said above, still no evidence that it can upload to the camera FTP right now. But it does create the requested directory.

**Update 2**
The camera is able to upload to my other FTP server.  Not sure if there is some specific problem with the security camera company's FTP.  but you can close this topic for now unless I post again.

Thanks

If your getting a Test Ok on some servers and the FTP is failing, I would presume there is a configuration issue with the FTP and the camera.
