Title: Changing IP address
Post by: Nisfornarwhal on July 24, 2011, 02:04:03 PM
I need my IP address changed.

I hear that with this router I have to change the MAC address because I can't change my IP address, but I could be wrong.
Could someone tell me how to change it?
Also If I need to ring my ISP to get it changed, what number do I need to ring? My ISP is Virgin as far as I know. Also I know how to get to the D-Link page where you put your IP into the address bar. How can I change my IP from there?

I've looked around online but I can't find a straight answer for Wireless connections...
Thanks.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

You can change the IP address of the router under Setup/Networking and this effects the LAN and WiFi and devices that connects to it. However the IP address can be about anything you wish.

Some routers and ISP modems that the same default IP address, like 192.168.0.1, so you can change the router to 192.168.1.1 or even something kewl like 4.9.8.1. Mines set for my actual house address on my street. Let us know if this helps and if we can help you more.
