Screenshot of interface.
« on: March 20, 2017, 03:14:47 AM »

Can anybody who owns this router in NA or EU region post the the screenshot of their interface for the router? I need it to check how different it is from the ISP modified version that I own. Thank You.
EDIT: Also kindly post your firmware version.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

You can see UI examples here in the user manual:
ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DIR-803/REVA/DIR-803_MANUAL_1.00_EN.PDF

If the ISP has given you this router then they maybe responsible for FW updates and development of FW. OEM would not be supported on there router if they maintain it.

Hardware Version : A1
Firmware Version: ET-1.02 (As I said ISP modified)
Region: UAE

I don't think the ISP any longer manages the router because my uncle gave it to me as the ISP has provided them with another. The problem is the router's upgrade option is not accepting the original stock .bin firmware file. I guess the ISP has modified it so as to accept only .img file( It is their default file extension for router upgrade files).

I tried to boot into recovery mode but the router seems to have a different default gateway for recovery mode. The browser does not respond to the address 192.168.0.1.  Any idea on how to figure this out?

Might contact the ISP and see if they can help. If the recovery mode isn't responding then seems like the ISP was the developer for this unit and has designed it differently.
Try this and see:
Emergency Recovery Mode

Most D-Link routers sold through ISPs with ISP-managed firmware have a hardware lock to prevent non-ISP managed firmware to be installed, even if it is the same model. Unfortunately if the hardware recovery mode will not accept the firmware there is really nothing you can do.

I can't enter the recovery mode. The router does enter recovery mode but the default ip address configuration does not give any response.
I was trying to use telnet commands to access the router, but I am not able to get past the login. Do you know what the username and password is ?

Do you think renaming the .bin to .img file would work?

I noticed a momentary dialog that appeared after the Invalid File Format Message about USB file upload. Luckily I was able to grab a screenshot in that split second after a few tries.

Also the html code has more to it than what is being shown. Can any body take a look at it?

And this page doesn't remain displayed at all? I see there is a browse button as well...if it could be used, try the browse button to the .bin file. Looks like it would accept the .bin file.

You can try renaming to .img however might not work.
