Title: Hourly events executed at different times the following day
Post by: euphoria on December 12, 2016, 05:04:23 AM
Hello,

I have used D-Link cameras as webcams since 2011, and currently own 5 D-Link cameras. Two of them are DCS-2132LB bought a year ago. One of them was replacing an old camera this summer. It's set up to upload an image to a FTP server:
- every day a week
- from 07:00 to 19:00 (currenly, but I change it depending on daylight)

Two issues:

1. After configuration, the camera neglects the first event (i.e. the 07:00 upload). The first uploaded picture goes at 08:00. This is a minor issue, but should be an easy fix.

The images are then for the rest of the day perfectly uploaded to the server every hour sharp...

2. The following day, the event is not triggered at 07:00, but at 07:44. For the rest of that day, the upload happens at 08:44, 09:44 and so on. The next day it goes at 07:28, 08:28 etc. It continues like that every following day, with the event happening 16 minutes earlier than the day before. This is very annoying for a webcam that is supposed to be updated precisely on the hour. I hope this will be fixed soon with a firmware update.

Sorry if this is posted before, but I couldn't find anything after doing a search. For the record, I've tested with both of my 2132-cameras in case it was only a single camera error, but it applies for both.

For number 1,change to 6:00am. Then you'll get your 7am photo.

Do you have the system camera clock time to update every day at the ntp server?

That will work for the first day, but for the following days I willl get photos uploaded between 6am and 7am, which is unwanted :).

Yes, apparently there is no problems with the camera clock. The timestamp on the image file name corresponds with the time the image is uploaded.

As a work-around solution to this problem, I've added scheduled reboot of the system daily at midnight.
This way, the timer is reset and the images are uploaded every hour sharp (and every ten minutes around sunrise).
