Title: Skipping Video
Post by: ferdinand on November 03, 2008, 04:31:48 AM
I have a strange problem.

When the DWA-142 is plugged in I can't play a dvd without it jerking like it can't keep up.

I have two dvd drives in the computer and it happens with both of them.

In the task manager it seems like system resources are not being over-taxed when a DVD is playing.

It's a P4 3.0Ghz with 1Gb of Ram running XP Professional SP3.

Without the adapter plugged in DVD's play fine.

It doesn't look like there are any hardware conflicts.

any Ideas  ???

Hello ferdinand,

Try using a different USB port and see if the problem persists. Also, keep the unit plugged in and disable the adaptor in the device manager. If the DVD playback works, I'd look into re-installing the drivers possibly (1.30 is the latest as of Feb of this year).

I've not heard of anything like this before, perhaps someone else could shed some light on the problem or offer some of their guesses.

Best of Luck,

Russ
