Very tempted as DGL-5500 v1.10B04NA FW is just a pain for me.  Lots of connectivity and network lag and I have to reboot every couple of days.

We will see if I have time this weekend.

Will try and get info. We do need to get some testing going however. Please load this new code and let us know what you see on a cursory level. Test the initial setup wizard, defautl settings, dont use any reservations just yet. Use default wireless modes and security. Do some speed.net and  pc to pc file xfer speed testing on wireless and wired connnections with a pc and record results as some testing suggestions. Note ant differences with Streamboost and ABE enabled/disabled.

For anyone gaming. Do some gaming on 2.4, 5Ghz and wired connectons, note any peformance issues seen with gaming and in games signal levels that games offer, ie signal bars. Test any gaming with two or more gaming devices at the same time.

So some video streaming from a connected USB drive.

Note any browser or web page problems encoutered.

Test any of these suggestions with Streamboost and ABE ON first then try disabling ABE and re-test.

Post your results here.

Thank you.

Just posted a Link to a very Drafty changelog we have been collecting (see original Beta Post). Some Cleaning is needed, but that will most likely happen at full release time.

We welcome your comments and test results.

Thanks Everyone!

Yea I tried it (BETA FIRMWARE 1.10 BUILD 10), but since I did the router forgets my pc after a reboot. Windows say someone else on the network has my ip. If I pull the wire outa the router and plug it back in the router reboots and I'm back to gaming without messing about windows.

Also the router still don't show all devices on my network, and they are active.  I can't trust that the router isn't letting people through the password if it's not functioning correctly or showing who's on when this pc I'm typing this from is, active on, connected by wire, and still not showing in the router screen.

I don't really want to offend anyone but this router isn't very good. I agree with others that for 200 bux this thing shouldn't need me to be a beta tester.

I honestly can say I know very little about routers, and setup but my DGL-4300 never did this, and thats why I was interested in upgrading to the DGL-5500. Now after this router, wow what can I say.

Taking it back is not an option, but man I wish I could.  I'd gladly accept my 200 bux back for beta testing this for Dlink and ship this router back to them.

You need to turn OFF ALL Devices accept for 1 wired LAN PC...

Once you get the one PC loaded and set up, can reserve if you want. Then Turn ON the next device.

I was able to load mine today and all my devices are actually using DHCP at the moment for test. Been gaming with 2 xboxes tonite and doing very well actually. One is wired and one is on a wireless bridged to the 5Ghz radio on AC mode...

Start again with ALL devices OFF and graduate them one at a time...

Maybe someone can review the router settings and help you set it up via teamviewer...

Do a reset on the router as well..

I walked thru the wizard first...use 100.00/10.00 for SB and turn off ABE for now...

One at a time...

Keep us posted.

Seeing some major improvements on this build and my experiences so far...

I set up the router using mostly defaults, save for manual DNS and DNS relay OFF, using DHCP IP addresses for all devices for now, no reservations, time and remote access, Media-cast Enabled. Left everthing else mostly default.

2.4Ghz Single mode N, Manual Chl 1, WPA2/AES only, HT20/40 Disabled
5Ghz Mixed all mode, Auto Chl Scan, WPA2/AES only.

Biggshooter recommended disabling ABE first, inputting 100.00 and 10.00 for manual speed. Save settings and and go back in and enable ABE then reboot fully. Tested internet speeds were near or on spot with my 50 down and 2Mb UP with ABE Enabled with this process. Seem that the initial wizard setup and speed testing operation is not correctly testing for speeds. If I used the wizard during set up, it found wrong speeds. After doing manual this process, gaming and overall general usage is very good.

Connected a 250Gb USB drive to the USB port with media server enabled. Able to stream video files to Windows Media play great.

I notice Icons seem to show up correctly for most of my devices. iPhones and Mac and Windows.

Haven't seen a router web page hang nor 500 Internal Server error message yet.

Only major thing I notice that that for some reason I can't see my File Server network share icon on my windows 7x64 and Mac Book Pro OSX client PC side using a DWA-180 or LAN wired. I can see the media server and USB drive that way, however the folder shares are missing and not accessible. Even mapping to the IP address of the File Server.  I'll see if resetting the share will do anything...I don't have to reset anything if I use a different model router.  ::)

Seems like this build is a vast improvement...

Would like to see some review on the SB/ABE speed testing operation and what would possible cause a network share to not be correctly displayed or become corrupt when using this model router.

Other than those items, for now, looking good!!!  ;D

Lets load this up people and get it tested out...

Well did as requested, I reset back to factory with this firmware, and added 1 pc at time.

First pc went fine it set ip to 192.168.0.100 (wired)
Second pc not so well, router didn't find pc on start and had to reboot the router, and only then the router found the second pc. Otherwise it was not getting internet access.
Also second pc ip address assigned to 192.168.0.102 (wired) I would have thought it would use 192.168.0.101

3rd pc went fine, but it's wireless connection and was assigned 192.168.0.103
4th connection iphone went fine and assigned 192.168.0.104
5th connection iphone as well and went fine assigned 192.168.0.105

All this was done 1 at a time with the router settings saved between each device.

So I went to Maintenance: System : Save Settings To Local Hard Drive: did that fine.

Went back to admin and noticed the time was wrong (wrong time zone) so I changed it to reflect correctly.
Saved settings.

Wanted to go back in and re save the new settings with correct config and timezone.
but after it got done saving the setting the router password didn't work that I had assigned and had to leave it blank. Then the router let me in.

Went to ADMIN reset password, and save settings again.

Went to router again and password stayed and was able to get in, double checked DHCP assignments, and timezone everything looked good and saved the config to my hard drive. Done

So I have connectivity to everything again, tried rebooting (PC not router) and everything is working still.

Everything is showing up in MY NETWORK/ ALL DEVICES

Thing is... Whats/Who is connected to  192.168.0.101? Did the router skip a number? And why did the router forget the password? After a save ?

I sounds like upon initial connection of the 2nd PC, the router did find the 2nd PC however something happened on the 2nd pc that didn't do a seamless IP address assignment. On the router, it was assigned to the 2nd PCs MAC address and is now leased to that MAC address for a period of time until the lease is up and that IP address becomes free.

What browser are you using to manage and set up the router?
I used IE 10 yesterday however did not set a admin PW as I find it inconvenient to use a PW while doing a lot of reboots while setting up and such. When I get the router set up and fully and not dinking around with it, I'll set up a PW.

The PW have been saving for me when I do use them. I only use numerical characters and usually 3 or 4 as I'm the only one on my system that needs access.

Seem like you finally got yours going...Keep us posted...
