DGS-1100-5: Multicast IPTV disconnects
« on: July 12, 2019, 07:23:27 AM »

Hello,

I have a DGS-1100-5 with v1.01B031 BETA and connected to it I have an 8 Channel IPTV Multicast Streamer that streams 8 TV channels in RTP transport over multicast IPs (225.0.0.x)  (output bandwidth is 25Mbit for all 8 channels - 2 Channels are FHD and 6 are HD) and 3 receivers (2 Desktops and 1 TVBox).

The DGS-1100-5 has IGMP Snooping enabled and all the other settings are left as they are set from factory.

If only one of the 3 receivers is connected to 1 TV stream it works without disconnect (tested for more than 1 day of continuous play). If I connect at least 2 receivers to the same multicast source, then after a while one of the receivers stops receiving multicast packets. If I reopen the stream on the disconnected receiver it stars but after a while a random receiver will again stop receiving multicast packets.

If I use the DGS-105 I get the same behavior but if I use an old TP-Link 100Mbit unmanaged switch then it works for hours.

EDIT: If I disable IGMP Snooping on DGS-1100-5 then It works as it should but all the ports are "flooded" with multicast traffic and I would rather not have that as it was the main reason I got this switch in first place.

Any suggestions on how to debug and/or fix this issue are welcome as I really want to use the DGS-1100-5.

Best regards and Thanks
