HI!

I have 2 isp,
 location bangalore,  india.
Router is Dlink - dir600-l.

Router works perfect with isp metronet. 1Mbps connection.  This uses thick cable. youtube buffer is
Fantastic.
But not with isp railwire.  10Mbps connection.this isp uses thin cables. Slow,  frustrating router perfomance.

When i plug in cable directly to computer, all is so good.
And yes,  the behaviour is same with all devices, 2 laptops, 3 phones.
So its a router issue only.

Problem, a lot of website needs to be refreshed, facebook pictures dont load, very very slow youtube buffering. Even  this forum banns me as spam. Its a strange browsing experience.
Yahoo mail does not open.
When I change network ( to 3g hotspot with my phone, or direct cable, all is fine !! )

I tried resetting, changing channels etc, dir600l does not work properly with  isp railwire.
I want to use railwire isp and dont want to buy a new router, its anyways in warrenty.

Lets solve it,
Else I have to buy new router.

Thanks,

Hello,

We solved the problem by reducing the MTU , default was 1500 bytes, I tried with 1400 bytes. ( Reducing MTU bytes )
Now if you want to ask how it worked, someone can explain ?

Regards,

Id ask your ISP specifically what MTU value you should be using.

Cable and Fibre are usually 1500, DSL is somewhere between 1492 and 1472...

Glad it's working better.

Enjoy.
