How is the audio quality on the 942l?  Is there static on the audio?

Thanks

I would say the static is very minimal on 942L compared to the 932L. I have both a 942L and 932L in the same room, so I've been able to compare them closely. The audio on the 942L is much better.

I agree, and I have my mic level jacked up to 90% .. it's quite clear as folks out of view are speaking even.., and I am only hearing a vary faint hum even with it set to almost max sensitivity.. JimS  :-X :-X

I bought a new DCS-932L and I have the same issue with audio static... I hope that it's solvable with a firmware upgrade, an audio cut filter for example...

Based on some other posts I've seen, I have reason to believe that the DCS-932L audio static is a software-based issue (i.e. correctable with firmware) rather than a hardware issue. In either case, we'll have to wait and see if D-Link offers a firmware upgrade that addresses this deficit.

On amazon italy there are other comments that report audio issue.
At this point an action from d-link is mandatory.
If this problem will be solved I'll buy other units of this model :)

The issue presently exists on the DCS-930L and DCS-932L.

I noticed something interesting over the weekend.  I have two DCS-942L's in the garage that were on wifi and had the exact same noise on the audio.  I got tired of the video cutting out intermittently--the wifi has to go through three thick walls, and 2.4 GHz is very congested in my area--so I ran Ethernet cable to them and turned off the wireless.  The static seems to have gone away on both cameras.

Also, the 5-6 second lag before an event shows up on the video stream is also gone.

Try connecting your camera with wired Ethernet and turn off the wireless function in the camera setup.

The thread you're posting in relates to a very loud clicking noise that was corrected a couple of years ago via firmware.
