Not sure if this is a supported feature.

So doing a factory reset, uploading FW manually and factory reset after the upload is not working?
Please give for details.

This camera came to me bricked ...   there was only u-boot and I try to recover firmware... so I put rom.bin file to sd card
and power on camera .. and it's gone ;) This recovery mode is in u-boot.

Recovery process rewrite firmware on burnin and uboot in flash SPI that now recovery is not avaible and the camera responding only this :
"MP SPI-NOR Bootstrap v0.2.1
SPI: Fail to read code in 0x6000"

Ya not sure if this process will get it working or not:
These cameras default ip is 192.168.0.20. Set pc to a static ip of 192.168.0.100, then logged into modem and uploaded the *.bin camera.

If this fails, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Okey FurryNutz, thanks for reply..

But this what you wrote about ip address is when you have working u-boot mode ...
The SPI memory in this camera has many sections :
- SYSTEM HEADER
- CONF
- NPBOOT
- BURNIN
- U-BOOT
- LINUX

and in my situation whole memory after BURNIN has deleted by linux image who replace it's

In this case only burn spi flash on external programmer will repair camera..

On this time i did it burn own burnin and u-boot images compiled form DLINK GPL sources and camera is half up ;)
Now it's only burn linux image and it's done ...

This is is a internal process that D-Link would have I presume. The camera maybe fixable. I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and ask about this and if there isn't a end user process to do this, ask for an RMA.

Unfortunately this camera is ended warranty and this repair by DLINK mayby costs a lot ...

This dump who needs it, anyone can do it with an efficient camera and post it here - it will repair my camera and I will not have to pay for it.
If anyone can do this please info

Do you know the process to get this dump that you need? Most users may not have the knowledge or tools to do this. Reason why you should phone contact D-Link support and ask about this. Maybe they can send you want you need.

there is no problem with the instructions, only with good will.
the first of what I would ask if anyone has the ability to connect to the RS232 port
in the camera by ttl converter (eg. ft232 or PL2303)?

If so, then when you turn should appear in the console U-Boot, you should keep pressing esc key to abort loading firmware
IAfter this issue this command

printenv

The result of this command paste in this topic ...

Hi komprez

I'm in the same situation as you and could use some advice on how you are going about reflashing everything. I also have a second camera I could get a full dump from if you have some instructions on how

OK my camera is working fine now ....

I managed to make my own firmware folded with individual blocks
It took me a little time but I did it ....

To fix the camera you should have:
 - Programmer SPI memory with W25Q128 flash support eg. like this (CH341 - chinese) :
 - A little knowledge on this topic
 - Beer;)

If U-Boot is alive ... put the firmware file on sd card (rename it to linux - file without extension)  and power up the camera with pressed reset buton
for 5 seconds... The recovery processs should start and the led's should blinking (i don't renember how blink's ;))
Wait about 5 min and reset the camera and connect it to the lan...  should wornikg on default IP address....

If U-Boot is dead (like in my camera), desoldering memory chip is only chance to save the camera
When i come home. I attach to this post my firmware file to reflash bricked SPI memory by external programmer.
RENEMBER !!! THIS FLASH FILE IS ONLY TO REFLASH SPI MEMORY ON EXTERNAL PROGRAMMER !
FLASHING THIS FILE WITH STANDARD PROCEDURE BY WWW IT WILL DESTROY YOUR CAMERA !

BTW... I wrote to DLINK (to Polish support where I live) and very cute woman says .. that my camera is of course bricked by me ;)
But she says that i my option if I had a guarantee it would give me a new camera after referral old ;)

Nothing else we can do from a forum stand point. We don't have any knowledge about re-loading SPI and such. You may check out other 3rd party FW forum sites to see if they have this kind of information. OpenWRT or DD-WRT and see if they support this model modem, and may have what you seek.

If the camera is under warranty, D-Link would handle this from here on out.

Hi,

of course.
1. First of all i've tried to reset - power on + reset button 10+ sec. - nothing happend.
2. If i hold reset and plug DC on RED is blinking, after ~3sec. i release reset button as described - changes to solid GREEN after 2-3 sec and stay in that state.
3. Reset 10+sec with DC on on GREEN state - nothing happens.

Do You have an idea what is wrong and/or what is the solution?

BR,
Q

Sounds like the camera is just bricked or broke and needs to be replaced.  :-\

What about flash shared in this topic. I didn't seen that. Is it attached somewhere?
I do have an programing platform to perform upload but do not have in core program to do that.

It seems that many persons have same problem as I. What is the root cause? Do You have some link info where it is explained?
