Which should I get - DFL-210 or DFL-260?
« on: September 03, 2009, 07:27:33 PM »

Here's what I'm trying to achieve:

First of all I need 2 WAN ports, one for main internet traffic (web browsing, SMTP, etc) and one for a dedicated VPN connection to a remote office's gateway.

I also need to be able to have 2 LAN ports in 2 separate VLANs.

Will the DFL-210 allow me use the DMZ port as a second WAN port, or do I need the DFL-260 to do this?

Hi Jaycee,

> You can go with DFL-210 , we can make the DMZ port as secondary wan interface.
> For VLANs , configure the vlans in the switch and add one port as a tagged member of both the vlans, connect to any one of the LAN port of DFL .
> There are not much difference between DFL-210 and DFL-260 , In DFL-260 you will get one more interface extra than DFL-210.

The differences between the DFL-210 and DFL-260 are as follows.

DFL-260 has Gateway Antivirus.
DFL-260 has Web Content Filtering.
DFL-260 has Better IPS.
DFL-260 has Anti-Spam.

These are all additional services you have to buy (a trial period comes with the product [at least in the US])

The hardware is the same except for a hardware stream filtering engine on the DFL-260 that allows some of those above features.
