v2 with 1.23 firmware reboots randomly
« on: July 22, 2011, 12:02:42 PM »

Am I missing something here .. I can be just surfing the web and the router will just reboot , it seems to happen every 3 hours ..

I went in and changed the router to start at 192.168.3.x to see if a conflict with 1 and the modem but still having the problem.

I have a dlink bridge set up in the other end of the house that is hooked up to the xbox and direct tv reciever and i thought that may be causing.

Before i had a v 1 with 1.23 firmware that worked fine , it got hit by lightening so i got a new one and added the bridge..

I am trying to figure out what I may have done to cause the problem by just adding the bridge..

Thanks

So the router only reboots when the Bridge is connected? Also I would suggest you restoring the firmware back to default, if your problems still continue than restore the firmware back to default and without changing a setting go ahead and reload Firmware 1.23 Hopefully this should fix your problems. As always have a great day.

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2.
