Hello,
My DAP-2690 access points are configured to synchronize their date and time with ntp1.dlink.com / 207.232.83.70 but it does not work : "System Time 01/01/2000 01:28:09".
I tried other NTP servers like 61.67.210.241 (dig ntp1.dlink.com), and others but it did not work either.
Moreover, I didn't see any time related message in the logs.
Do anyone have a clue on this issue ?

Can you try using fr.pool.ntp.org and test to see if that works. Also try using the apply time using the connected computer option if this devices has this option. :-\

I tried 128.138.141.172 which is the IP behind time.nist.gov (according to dig time.nist.gov) but it does not work better. My DAP-2690 is still at system time "01/01/2000 01:37:14".
I didn't find any "apply time" feature on the DAP-2690 web GUI so I clicked on "configuration / Save and Activate" which kind of restarted the device.

Try fr.pool.ntp.org?
Are the DAPs connected to a host router? Possible that NTP services are being blocked by something up stream. :-\

unfortunately, fr.pool.ntp.org does not work anymore.
I will check the firewall issues.

I know this is an old post, but I'm having exactly the same problem with exactly the same model & wonder if anyone found a resolution. I am able to correctly set the time using 'copy your computer's time and settings', but after a day or so it resets itself to 01/02/2000.
I have tried setting an ntp server but it does not change the time, even after several restarts (BTW, fr.pool.ntp.org doesn't work also because the system looks for an ip address, not a URL).

What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at sticker under router.

What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
What ISP service do you have? DSL, Cable or other?
What make and model router is this DAP connected too?

Sorry for pulling this older thread, but i have these exact problems too, which is really a problem because i need to use schedules!
So incorrect time will ruin my project.
I tried all the several timeservers listed in this thread, also tried resolving their IP's and reboot with that, but nothing seems to work.
rest of the AP seems to work fine. I am certain LAN settings are correct. the AP is behind NAT.
please HELP!

Firmware: 1.15
HW Version: A1 (i am from NL/Europe)
Strange enough, the device came out of the box with FW 1.15, while "latest" release on the dutch support website states version "Firmware v1.11rc040"
I checked the US version of the support site, which does state "1.15" as latest firmware, so i did not alter it.

Is the DAP connected to a main host router or ISP modem?
Here's what v1.15 release notes say:
1. Fix the stuck beacon issue by chipset vender’s patch
2. Replace the IP address to domain name in Log setting
3. Add MIB support for HT20/40 coexistence and DNS, SNTP, Log settings
4. Fix some authentication can not support short GI
5. Fix the ping packet will be drop when packet size larger than 1469 in WDS mode
6. Fix VLAN only can add 15 entries.
7. Fix AP Array slave or backup master can’t Synchronized with the master

Like said, its behind NAT. So yes offcourse its connected to a router...
It can ping the whole world, and does resolve DNS.
What should i do with the notes ?

Try putting the IP address of the DAP into the host routers DMZ and see if this helps.

Going to recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and inquire about this. I'm wondering if either there is a problem with the DAP or the NTP services. Ask for level 2 or higher support.
Let us know how it goes.

Have you checked your DNS+gateway settings for the DAP-2690? If the DNS doesn't work, it won't be able to resolve any NTP server - thus no updates...

I realize this is an old thread, but I just came upon this issue yesterday. I believe this issue is a firmware limitation. (Crazy, I know.) No matter what option I use to update the date, I usually end up with 2002 or 2012. If you try to use the Manual option, you'll see that the highest year you can choose is 2012! Poor programming to say the least. I have a call into D-Link, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I just found an answer (at least for me) in another thread. The NTP server feature will work as long as the NTP server is on the LAN. I made my Windows 2008 server an NTP server by following these directions:
Open Regedit:
Back up the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32time key. (Just in case!)
Modify these register entries:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32time\Config\AnnounceFlags= 1
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32time\Parameters\NtpServer = time.windows.com (This will allow the NTP Server to synchronize with time.windows.com, if you don't need that you can let it empty)
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\W32time\Parameters\Type = NTP (This is optional and should be enabled if you want your NTP server synchronize with another NTP server)
No need to reboot. There are other options out there for a local NTP server as well. When I pointed my WAP-2553 at my local NTP server, the date corrected itself.

I'm curious, are you using Windows 2008 as your main host router or is there an other HW router in the line? If so, does using the HW routers DMZ help if you put the DAPs IP address in the DMZ?

Does your model AP allow the use of an numerical IP address for the NTP server?
