Fire Fox Plug in
« on: September 19, 2016, 03:16:56 PM »

I am trying to access my DNR 202L locally using its IP address and Fire Fox browser. After I connect it says I need a plug in with no download link. What Plug in do I need and where can I download it from? I have the my Dlink services plug in 1.0.2.7  (npUplayer.dll) insatlled and set for always activate. Accessing the DNR 202L from My dlink web site just has a grey screen with no video. I am using an older computer with windows Vista 32 bit OS. I am able to use IE 9 it works, but I like to leave it running all day and IE 9 will crash often. I would like to try using Firefox in hopes the browser will not crash so much.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Did you clear the browser cache before and after installing the current plug in?
What version of FF do you have installed?
Have you tried to install IE11 in Vista?

Thanks!

I tried on my Win7.. I couldn't get past the "this needs a plugin installed" message.  I have NoScript and AdBlock installed...

I do remember my Vista 32bit home did work in FFX.... I couldn't find my post here about it. :(  The forum search here isn't up to spec and rather worthless.  I guess I don't understand how it works. Definitely not as easy as anywhere else.

But that Vista laptop does have Java 7 installed - so that's probably why it worked.

IE 11 is the last and the only browser you will ever get the DNR 202L to work in. When (not if) MSFT decides to stop support your DNR202L will be obsolete. MSFT IE 11 is the last browser to use Java.

FF works as well. ::) Tested it last nite in Windows 10. Plenty of support life for the DNR.

yes Java works fine with FF, however during install....sometimes all you get is the message to download java and nothing happened (this happened to one of my computer). If you encounter this kind of problem even with FF...check your computer and make sure Java is enabled, not the browser, the computer itself. I believe you could find it in control panel, i cant recall where exactly but google has plenty of help.

I got it to work fine on FF on Vista and Windows 10 now. IE 11 is not  supported on Vista. Dlink works well on IE9 On vista as well. The browser does crash every once and while, but not Dlinks fault it is the browser.

NAd yes the search on this forums needs some work.
