DSN-5410-10 = XFP only option?
« on: January 04, 2011, 01:44:02 PM »

Finding a switch that handles XFP is getting increasing difficult  (We need 8 ports to map servers to SAN), is XFP the only option to go with?  With switches using SFP+, the only solution that I have found is to use HP's XFP / SFP+ cable (HP X244 XFP SFP+ 5m Direct Attach Cable (J9302A)), to connect to a Dell switch.  I'm just not getting the warm and fuzzy feeling having to deal with 3 vendors when something goes wrong.

Is anyone doing this?  I couldn't see a 5410 forum to post into.  (something else that's not giving me the warm and fuzzies)

Thanks.

I goofed.  You can use a cable from HP to get you XFP =>SFP+ with ease.
