Documentation Suggestion: Web Interface, PDF, & FAQ
« on: October 20, 2008, 03:55:26 PM »

Hi All,

The single biggest product deficiency on D-Link products is the lack of meaningful documentation, FAQ and proper description of features in the Web Interface.  Most of the information in the Web Interface and documentation provides basic information; the DNS-343 product is no exception.

I appreciate that most companies are focused on an active product delivery lifecycle so as to remain profitable; however, this results in poor documentation which in turn results in loss of potential revenue as a result of frustrating experiences.

Instead of keeping "pace" with current competitor practices, I see an opportunity for D-Link to gain additional market share.   As more-and-more folks become knowledgeable about networking, a professional level of documentation demonstrates a commitment to your customers.

That said, here are some things that D-Link is doing right:

- Forums on products (should be ALL products)
- Consistent support site (downloads, tree view assistance)
- Courteous support personnel who genuinely try to assist (more training dollars should be allocated)

Cheers,
