User login check failed in LOGS - DLINK 2750u
« on: February 18, 2015, 01:05:05 AM »

The last lamp (Internet lamp) glows in red colour and the log says

syslog: Accessor:[CPE] Method:[AUTH] Para:[] Result:[9007] Not found session 50bcf3ba, user login check failed

I immediately disconnect dlink try connecting using an old modem of mine. It works perfectly and no such authentication failure.

Can anyone please guide me, how to troubleshoot to find what's wrong ?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your modem? Look at the sticker under modem.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the modems web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Be sure your PPPoE account information is entered into the DSL modem correctly and accurately.

Example of a D-Link router configured for PPPoE with ISP Modem bridged: PPPoE Configuration on a Router Contact the ISP support service for help and information on connecting modems to there services.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.

Hw : U1

Firmware : IN_1.08

Location : India

Yes, PPPoE information entered is 100% accurate. Because this is only a temporary phenomenon, as this happens sometimes but able to connect many other times.
So cant say modem is dead. I feel there's something missing.

As I said in the opening post of this thread. I was able to connect without any problems with my old huawei modem the very next moment authentication fails in dlink.

Also
There is something said in this thread, but I do not understand it.

The Internet globe turning red is an indicator that there either the PPPoE didn't authenticate right and can't get connected due to user account configuration or there in a phone line signal problem with the ISP service and the phone lines...If the modem is connecting sometimes then the connection is stopping sometimes, then I would check with the phone lines and signals on the lines. Ensure the lines are in proper good working condition and the signal on the lines meet modem and ISP service specs. Have the ISP check the phone lines physically to be sure and have them look at there logs during the time frames when the model isn't connected. Hopefully you and the ISP can narrow down the issue...

HELLO

I have similar problem me too, can you tell us how did you solve your issue.

My a Dlink DSL 2750U FRMWR 1.09ME, has problem authenticating to my ISP (red internet light). this usually happen when I press the "Disconnect" button in internet setup section of the router and then "connect", the router connects back to internet but after a couple of hours/minutes, the router gets disconnected and can not authenticate anymore, this problem happens for the second time, I have another spare router that I tested, it authenticate properly and I can access internet without problem. I noticed that this problem occurs only when I press that "Disconnect" button in "Internet Setup" section.
I tried re-setting authentication credentials many times but still not want to connect.
I also tried resetting the whole router setting and reconfigure it again, but still doesn't want to connect

Thank you FurryNutz.

If the problem was from the line, do you think that the other router would work? my other spare router works fine. I switch instantly between routers, 2570U doesn't, the other works.
As I described in my post, this problem happens only when I click on "Disconnect" button in "Internet setup" section. this is the 2nd time this problem happen.
No the router does not connect then disconnect, it just stopped connecting to internet(ADSL synced).
The line is stable I have SNR between 80~90.

Thank you again for your support  :)

Doe the modem still go off-line or loose sync if you disable the WiFi radio?

You might try doing a factory reset, re-load the FW code, then factory reset then set up from scratch...

Thank you FurryNutz.

I didn't disable wifi, but the router does not lose signal even if WIFI is on. my adsl line sync does not drop. (adsl light is always on)
I did factory reset and did not solve the issue.
How to reload FW code? do you mean flashing it? or factory reset? is this my FW http://www.dlinkmea.com/site/index.php/site/productDetails/232

Yes, acquire the FW file. Wired connect one PC to the modem. Factory reset the modem, Using IE or FF with PC security SW disabled, up load the same FW file again. After the file is processed and the modem is back to ready, factory reset the modem once more, then set up from scratch.

Test this modem with it's WiFi radio off to see if the modem looses sync or not. Wire connect to the modem.

Hello and sorry for my late answer,
For some reason I found my router connected to the internet, I didn't do anything, none was at home. I still don't understand why it could not connect but the other router could although I reset it several times... anyway...
thank you for your help, I hope this problem won't happen again, if any I will update this thread.

Thanx again.

Possibly a handshake issue or something on the ISP service. Hope it keeps working.

Enjoy.  ;)
