IP log in problem
« on: April 14, 2014, 11:09:54 AM »

I have been running the camera for just a month and no problems
I can run and see the camera thru the MYDLINK site and log into the camera no problem
the Iphone app works great.   It is set up to record no problem.... BUT
until a few days ago I would log into it via the IP address that was assigned to the camera
192.168.1.*** for it. But now it just doesn't connect at all, no log in screen or anything.
and I found it was the best to setup the camera this way and delete recordings..
I reset my router the modem, the Computer that im using and I unplugged the camera itself.
Any body have a clue to get this running again... I was using the newest Firmware from last month.

From the symptoms you're describing, the IP address assigned to the DCS-942L changed, which would cause the break in LAN access, while mydlink still works:

I have gone into my Linksys smart Wifi log in and it shows up under devices with the same IP

I went back into MYDlink went into settings  down to Advanced
and it opens a webpage with a IP of ********** and it looks like d-link dashboard
but the live video doesn't work... but if I hit the Status tab it still shows the ip address
is the same as before? but I cant open it in a web browser

When you log into your Linksys router and identify the DCS-942L IP address, are you sure the IP address is pointing to the DCS-942L? (i.e. can you identify the associated MAC address as belonging to the DCS-942L). Also, I presume you are only trying to access the IP address using a browser on a PC located on the same LAN as the router/camera.
