DGS-3100 Cable Diagnostics
« on: November 09, 2011, 05:09:38 PM »

How accurate is this tool?
I have a number of descrepancies.
One open Cable with a fault distance of 39M and physically has a cable connected to port and the led is green.
I have quite a few similar with Open Cable and a few with Short Cable and a few OK.
When I look at tx and rx errors none show up.
I'm invesigating network sluggeshness at times and this could be the factor. But with this diagnostic I'm surprized there aren't quite a few that can't connect at all.

It is pretty accurate. You gotta look at it this way, it gives you a picture about the cable living up to the standard, and not only if it is working. It might not fulfill the standard, but might work anyway:-)
