Seem like there are speed improvement in both read/write test over the previous firmware. Results are not conclusive as the test on 2.03b03 was done early in Jan 2014 and there was a change in router after that.

Volume 1 & 2 using firmware 2.03b03

I have just installed this on my NAS and can confirm the speeds have increased using the same hardware.

I used CrystalDiskMark to bench both volumes over my gigabit LAN which my Synology happily saturates.

Volume 1 is a very old 250GB Western Digital SATA1
Volume 2 is a old 320GB Western Digital SATA2

As you can see the newer firmware increases the speeds by a fair margin.

Hello friends.

This version supports the add-on apps ?
Such as DNS 320L latest firmware ?

Thanks from Brazil.

All the while, this model doesn't support add-on apps and IMO is unlikely to be supported in future firmware.

Not sure if this has been reported before. It seem like starting from firmware 2.03 onward, the present of HDD is require otherwise the upgrading process will simply stuck at 0%. This also apply to downgrading as well.

If memory serve me well, from firmware version 1.0 to 2.02, firmware upgrading/downgrading will work fine without the present of any HDD.

D-Link posted DNS-320 firmware version 2.05b08, which can be downloaded here: DNS-320  - Firmware v2.05b08 Download.

Please post your comments and observations as a reply to this thread.

Hi,

The Rev A. 2.05b08 fixed the slow download speed, but Outlook 2007 can't open my pst files from Volume_1 and Volume_2.
With 2.03, it worked. I get 0x800703EE error when I try to open pst files. I tried several folders, but It wasn't successful. From my PC it works well.

I see numbered user on some directory security tab (not on all directory) : Unix user\1001 (I think it is the linux user/nobody user) and Unix group\502 (maybe allaccount?).
But all of these users (everybody, linux user/1001) and group nobody/502 hasn't any right.

Win7 X64 SP1, Outlook 2007.

Hi, updated to 2.05 again (taken from the official d-link support site).  Its prob the same file but it works this time.
I now have a 5TB Toshiba HDD installed - MD04ACA500.
2nd drive is Hitachi 2TB - HDS723020BLA642
And a USB share - ANother 2TB drive.

All working well, however a few issues noticed;
USB Backups.  No matter how I set this up it does not back anything up.  NAS>USB nor USB>NAS.
Haven't seen the network connection as being any faster at all.
Same speed wired or wireless - About 5M/s

Any hints/tips appreciated.

You installed v2.05b08 twice and it get working fine?
Maybe could be a profile/configuration problem.

Btw, this device is stuck in v2.05b08 right? :(
No news?
