DWA-182 Windows 8 Problem Having
« on: January 07, 2014, 04:38:02 PM »

I have the Dlink DWA-182 wireless adapter and I use it with Windows 8.1 on my laptop.

When I connect to my Netgear R6300 router with the Dlink DWA-182 wireless adapter with the 5Ghz band the Apps and App store do not get a connection to the internet but everything else works just find when using the internet.

When I connect under the 2.4Ghz band the Apps and App store work then.

Any idea why this is?

Link>Welcome!
What HW version is the DWA?

Wireless Configurations
  • What wireless modes are you using?
  • 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz routers: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N on 5Ghz?
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only.

As a test, disable Wifi security on the 5Ghz radio, does the DWA connect to the Internet then?
Ensure you are using the latest drivers from the main site for the DWA.
Ensure that your laptops chipset or USB drivers are up to date...
