After, that, do a test with SB disabled and enabled with out any other devices online. Then graduate adding the rest of the devices. Reserve them as you go....

I reset the DGL-5500 to factory default.  Modem wired to DGL-5500 wired to PC.  I am still getting the same issue when I select MY NETWORKS and PRIORITIES (This page is used for StreamBoost. Click here to set up StreamBoost.

No matter what I select within the STREAMBOOST menu, I can't seem to get it to function like it did when I was using cable internet.

 >:(

I may try and just connect the DGL-5500 to my PC, reset to factory default, and then set up with just the DGL-5500 connected to my PC.

Any other suggestions / troubleshooting?

What happens if you put the 5500 back on the Cable modem ISP?

I'm gonna try that next. If StreamBoost doesn't work, I broke it and it's going back to Fry's. I will go back to using the 857 as my router and the 4500 as the AP.

Sorry to hear that!!! Hopefully SB is not functioning correclty. I would do as Furry has suggested, Simplify your network and start adding clients slowly.

Stream Boost seems to working well for me thus far and really liking the router. I just reconfigured my DIR-857 and made it into a AP. Doing some speed tests and it's running slow on the 5GHZ. Possibly due to the fact I have the 857 connected to my DD-wrt linksys. Don't ask I have a crazy wireless network setup for the multiple clients I have here.

Gonna test the 857 Ap with the XBOX on the 5ghz and see what the results are. Currently I have the xbox 360 wirelessly connected to the 5500 over the 2.4 GHZ, speeds are great. The 5GHZ freqs are 1 bar to none, what a bummer

Just like to add, during testing of the 857 in AP mode I was in another room where the DGL-5500 was located and possible interference from that 5ghz wireless. Retested the 857 AP downstairs and this thing is smokin' fast connected to my linksys 160N. I have both 2.4 &5 GHZ and guest networking active. Crazy.

The DGL-5500 is the main router and all 5 of my routers depend on it. Thus far the 5500 is working well, if the 5ghz wireless amp were stronger I would be a happy camper.

Bigshooter, my suggestion would be connect your 5500 to your cable modem and 1 desktop pc and 1 wireless client, just to TEST its ability to handle SB.

Would like to have you a happy customer, hopefully it's just settings.

I had the same problem this what I had to get the router working back normal with no rest.

Check your router to see if  you have Enable Auto Bandwidth Estimation is check an if so does it have all zero are blank there the router freaks out if you do not have number in there. You have to uncheck the button save it let router reboot then put your upload and down in there then save it again reboot the router and that should fix your problem. You may have to power it off then back on after all that but it.

I presume that ABE is now disabled for you entirely?

I just had CenturyLink VDSL service set up (40Mb down / 5Mb up).  I'm using an Actiontec C1000A modem.  I have DISABLED WIRELESS and put the [Actiontec C1000A] modem in "TRANSPARENT BRIDGE" mode.  I ran a speed test via Speedtest.net.  My speeds were 37.50Mb down / 4.6Mb up.

I configured the DGL-5500 for PPPoE and connected it to the Actiontec C1000A modem (wireless disabled / transparent bridge mode).  I ran a speed test via Speedtest.net and noticed a significant drop in speeds (17.50Mb down / 1.95Mb up), which was what I was getting with my cable internet (subscribed to 20Mb down / 2Mb up).

I decided to DISABLE STREAMBOOST BANDWIDTH CONTROL and test via Speedtest.org.  My speeds jumped back up to 37.50Mb down / 4.6Mb up.

I went back and ENABLED STREAMBOOST BANDWIDTH CONTROL and had intermittent internet connection to all my networked devices (wired / wireless).  I noticed the router was slow and unresponsive when I attempted to log back in.  I attempted to click on MY NETWORKS and received the following prompt (error?) at the top of the screen:  This page is used for StreamBoost. Click here to set up
StreamBoost.  When I clicked on "here", I was brought to the STREAMBOOST page.  Everything WAS SET to DEFAULT (ENABLE STREAMBOOST BANDWIDTH CONTROL - CHECKED).  I did a restart.  In fact, I did several restarts and when selecting MY NETWORKS, I get the same prompt (error?) message indicating I need to set up Streamboost.

I decided to reset the DGL-5500 to factory default.  I ran the setup wizard and ran a speed test.  I noticed my speeds were close to my subscribed 40Mb down / 5mb up.  I selected MY NETWORKS and got the same prompt (error?) message.

I'M STUMPED!  Is anyone else having issues with this?  Can anyone offer other troubleshooting support?

Hopefully I've provided enough info.

I'm having the same issue, When I enable Auto Bandwidth Estimation the router caps my download and upload speeds alot lower then what they should be.

I'm with comcast and subscribe to 50/10 internet speeds and never had any issues reaching theses speeds before this router.  When I enable the Bandwidth Estimation I'm getting 16.5mb download and 3.5mb upload speeds.  With Bandwidth Estimation turned off I'm back to speeds around 56mb download and 8.5mb upload.

Awesome, thank you for testing and posting your results. Seems like ABE could be the culprit to the decrease in speeds. I'll forward this to D-Link.

Thank you.

**UPDATE**

I ended up replacing the Actiontec C1000A with another Actiontec C1000A as I determined the modem was faulty.

I configured the Actiontec C1000A to operate in "Transparent Bridging" mode and DISABLED "Wireless" to prevent the modem from transmitting a wireless signal.

I reset the DGL-5500 to factory defaults, rebooted, and set up INTERNET (PPPoE), WIRELESS SETTINGS, NETWORK SETTINGS (disabled DNS Relay / Reserved IP addresses for all devices on my network), and STREAMBOOST to work with my desired home network configuration.  I DISABLED / UNCHECKED the following in STREAMBOOST:

*Enable StreamBoost Bandwidth Control**
*Enable Auto Bandwidth Estimation**

I am happy to post all is working like it should be  ;D with the exception of no devices being displayed in MY NETWORK and no devices being displayed in PRIORITIES.  I'm assuming this is a result of the options selected in the STREAMBOOST tab.  I plan to start testing by enabling / disabling different options within StreamBoost.

My ultimate satisfaction would be to not have download / upload speeds affected, be able to view my network devices within MY NETWORK, and prioritize my network devices within PRIORITIES  :).

That's all for now - off to bed! 8)
