I will. I'm working with Xbox Live support first.

Oh, the detailed network test on the XB1 says it's behind a "port-preserving post-symmetric NAT".

Can you confirm that your getting a Public IP address on the 5500 WAN side? Just need to confirm that your ISP modem isn't giving you a private IP address. Can you check to see if the ISP modem doesn't have a built in router?

I was thinking along the same lines. The "modem" is not a modem, but a cellular (WiMax) gateway. Couldn't find a way to bridge it after a quick look but here is the manual. See page 18 how to disable firewall, but I would suggest calling the ISP and see if the device can be flat our bridged.

I was digging into the WiMax gateway (yes, I think you are correct about this) and found that it also had NAT and UPnP IGD enabled. So I have disabled these.

Making these changes in fact opens the NAT on the Xbox One. No wonder changing the DGL-5500 didn't do anything. Ugh I should have checked the gateway earlier. Well I certainly learned something at the very least.

Once again thank you all for your troubleshooting help and advice.
