Can't view camera in LOCAL tab of mydlink Lite
« on: May 13, 2017, 08:41:01 AM »

I've been having some issues lately with my cameras. I did manage to fix most of them but the one thing that is bugging me now is I can't view the DCS-936L in my LOCAL tab on iPad or my phone (android). I have a feeling this is a problem with this camera that's why I'm posting it here again.

Can anyone with 936L view the camera both in the LOCAL and REMOTE tabs on your home network? What devices are you using?
On my iPad I get a "Video stream lost..." error and on my Android phone "Could not connect to the device. Please try again later"

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.93 DHCP

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

My 936L is working on both tabs for me, however I use iPhone.

Just an update... My LOCAL view is working now for the DCS-936L. I didn't do anything to correct this. I was in contact with support for the past few days. They provided some suggestions but none of them worked and they asked to provide the mydlink number and MAC address of the camera. Does D-Link have access to my camera if I give them this info?

I don't know full extent of access however I presume they probably have access to where it logs into and on there system can see it there. I also had to do this last year as one of my cameras was not working on there system. Has ever since then. No problems. D-Link doesn't have direct access as it takes the account information to gain access to the video.
