DCS-2210 Storing motion to network server
« on: March 26, 2013, 02:48:58 PM »

Hello guys,

I got my 2210 delivered today and am quite happy with what I've got :)

I am trying to set up motion detection recording video to my server (Win2008R2) on my LAN. However I can't get the pigging thing to work and the message "Test Error" is infuriating me!

So I have set the following up:

Network storage location = \\SERVERNAME\CCTV
Workgroup = SERVERNAME
User name = CCTV
Password = ********
Primary WINS server =  0.0.0.0 (left as blank but defaults to this)

I've tried changing the slashes round on the location and changing the workgroup to the server's workgroup.

Any ideas?

Also what is the max micro SD size allowed? I assume it's 32gb, but loathe to buy one just in case :)

Thanks.

I had no problems with a 32gb card in my DCS 2230 and DCS 2132L.

Cheers Ryat3! Do you know what class yours is? Only £20 for a class 10 though.

Anyone know about the setting up NAS question?

Thanks.

p.s. for 32 gig card, 1280x720 sd recording at 30fps amounts to about 24-26 hours of video.. 19-20 50 meg files per hour.

Are you using strong password with special characters? Stop that.

Sorry for my late reply.

Not sure what I did to fix it, but I did lol. I reset the camera back to factory and re-did it all. Folder permissions are set up for my 'cctv' user and it just worked :)
