Help with Squid and DIR-655
« on: July 18, 2011, 06:53:19 AM »

Hello...

I have a setup like this.

Foreach computer I need to go and configure the browser proxy settings and some people are getting smart and turn it to automatic configuration again.

So what i want to achieve is to have my DIR-655 to route all the HTTP/port 80 traffic to the proxy server.
That way it is transparent and then it is not needed to configure each computers browser settings.

Help please. I am pretty new to this and the router configurations.

The proxy server works fine if i configure the browser manually.

Thanks in advance

You might want to post a bigger picture or something that has larger text. Hard to see anything in the picture.  :-\

Dump the router and run every thing through the proxy.

I cant change the setup, it is fixed...

I can only change settings on the router, modem and/or proxy server.
And it seems to me that the best option is to change the router settings.

Try bypassing the router by putting the proxy server in the routers DMZ?

Is this a home or office setup?

If its an office, have a manager tell the employees that if they change the browser settings they risk discipline.

If its a home environment tell the kids they will lose Internet use.
