Title: Repeater mode disconnecting from router, switching to wrong channel.
Post by: sermarr on December 23, 2018, 08:10:16 AM
Hi. I just bought a DAP-1665 Rev B with v2.03 out of the box

I'm trying to get it working in Repeater mode. Either with the normal Repeater mode or the WISP Repeater mode, and it works... until stops doing so after, say 20 minutes or so. It loses connection with the internet router in 5Ghz (haven't tested with 2.4Ghz).

After testing a bit I found out  the following: Say I force my router to channel 56. When I turn the DAP1665 on it shares the same channel (tested with an Android phone app).. then after a while the AP loses connection to the router. When I check again, I see the APs 5Ghz channel has changed to  44. If I reset the AP it works again (on channel 56). If I force the channel on the router to the APs (44) It starts working again too.

I can't  force the channel on the AP. It's grayed out in  the repeater modes to "auto".

Is this normal behavior? I don't think so. The AP shouldn't switch channels, or at least it should allow me to force it, and if it loses connection it should try to recover to whatever channel the router is on.
