Title: DAP-1522 and NAS
Post by: monch9 on April 23, 2009, 07:03:22 AM

Hi,

Newbie to AP's and bridges here.  I'm thinking of upgrading my network at home.  I have a DIR-825 connected to the cable modem in the 2nd floor.  An IOMega Home Media NAS is connected to one of it's gigaports.  A powerline plug is connected to another port.

Downstairs, I got an Netgear EVA-8000 connected to the other powerline on the nearest socket.  I get lousy throughput.  (Old house, old wiring, bad placement of plugs).

I was wondering if I could get a DAP-1522 in AP mode downstairs nearer to the EVA-8000.  And plug the NAS to the DAP-1522?

The placement of the DAP would then be to a socket nearer to the better powerline socket?
