HP P1005 printer issue
« on: April 16, 2012, 08:43:34 AM »

I cannot print with HP P1005 laser printer over shareport.
Printer is connected to the router USB port and I connected/installed it using the shareport utility, however when printing the printer starts blinking and nothing happens ?

Hmm. I use the same thing. Mines P2014n
Wired or wireless connected to the router using your PC?
What FW version is the router using currently?

Printer drivers up to date?

Some things to try:
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.
