Title: DNR 202L web interface
Post by: andrew hombre on September 09, 2017, 10:26:16 AM
Hi there. I'm new here and I don't know how to post or start a query. I do have a DCS 5020L camera and it works really well. Now I just bought the DNR 202L to be able to start recording. But I can't seem to connect to my DNR 202L's web interface. The problem is every time I click on the "connect" button it always tells me that

This connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to 192.168.0.113, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

So now I don't know if I should continue or not as I don't wan't to have a bigger problem. Does anyone know what measure should I make for this one? I usually use google chrome as my browser but with the DNR 202L, it says that it doesn't support my google chrome version but works perfectly with my DCS 5020L.
Thanks!
Have a good day y'all

There is no option to continue?

Try Use IE11 or FFX ESR v52.

If that doesnt work,  try running then as administrator.

I'd clear ALL browser caches, exit the browser then re-open the browser then try to connect.

You can see if setting Compatibility mode on IE11 and see if this helps any.

I recommend setting a static IP address of .202 on the DNR when and if you can gain access to it...

Possible that Chrome might not be supporting of the UI or you have something blocking the DNRs web page in Chrome...
Glad the other browsers work. Enjoy.  ;)

Am I correct that the interface has still not been updated to work in non-ESR versions of FireFox?  I just installed firmware v2.04.03, and it seems that the web interface only works in IE (11.0.9600.18816 Update 11.0.47).  It doesn't appear to work in Chrome (61.0.3163.100) or FireFox (56.0).

I was surprised since the patch notes for v2.04.01 state "The landing page on the Firefox browser did not display live streams and playback." as a fixed problem.  Was that fix instituted before Firefox changed their add-on\plug-in policy with v52?

For what it's worth, I even went into the site settings "Info - Connection - More Information - Permissions" and allowed Flash, Pop-ups and Add-ons.  I've cleared my cache and done a "Hard Reload".

2.04.01 is dated 2016/07/01.

It looks like FFX version 47 was out at that time.  https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/47.0/releasenotes/ (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/47.0/releasenotes/)

All recent versions of FF ESR work as well.

Looks like v52.4.1 is the last version for ESR:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/52.4.1esr/ (http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/52.4.1esr/)

non ESR versions don't work as well as Chrome and browsers that block java plug-ins.

Recommended browsers are IE11, FF ESR versions for Windows and Safari and FF ESR for Mac. FF ESR is working for me on my Mac.

Thanks for the reply!  That's what I figured, unfortunately.  It's disappointing to have to install a separate browser just to use the interface.
On my desktop, I have IE 11 which works (though I dislike having to launch it).  On my wife's Win10 laptop I'll have to install either FF ESR or IE (since hers came with just Edge).

IE11 should already be on the Windows 10 LT...

That's what I thought, but it's not there.  Not in the programs list, search doesn't find it.  Even clicking "Open in IE" from within Edge doesn't do anything.  Thanks again, though!

No Internet Explorer under Programs x86 or Programs? It's listed on mine. However I wonder if it's my build of WIndows 10 I have. I have both x32 and x64 versions of IE11 on my pc. Well FF ESR will work at any rate.

Where did you get this version of Windows 10?

Is this that Windows S or something?
