Strange Hard Drive Standby Issue
« on: December 24, 2008, 11:27:23 PM »

I have a DNS-343 with the latest 1.02 firmware.  There are currently 2 hard drives installed (Seagate 1 TB and Seagate 320GB) and they are configured as Individual Disks.  I turned off all services (dhcp, itunes, upnp, ftp, etc.)  and set the drives to go into standby mode after 30 minutes.  Both drives go into standby as expected.  The problem is that drive 1 powers on when I access a share on drive 2.  If I access a share on drive 1, drive 2 DOES NOT power on as expected.  If you look at the reviews for this device on newegg, you will see someone having a similar issue with drive 1 powering on randomly.  Any ideas?
