Video quality - really bad?
« on: November 30, 2013, 06:41:58 PM »

So for a 720p camera, I thought this would be good picture quality.
I've tried both direct (meaning on my private network) and via the Dlink Cloud.  I've made sure I'm at 720p and let me just say that the quality of the video is horrible.

I've got a Dericam unit with 720p and no H.264 (only MJPEG) compression and it's got far better clarity than the D-link.

I've updated to the latest firmware.

Hopefully it's a setting that's not set right.  I've set the default from "auto" to Day (otherwise it seems to always pick "night" for some reason).  I've made sure the lens is in focus (as much as you can tell anyway).  The picture just looks grainy, is all I can say.

Any ideas/pointers?  For $200 I was expecting something better than the $100 dericam unit I have.

Currently, the mydlink+ app supports HD video stream in MJPEG codec only. (MJPEG > 1280 x 720)

I make this also wrong at the beginning...
