Which version of Shareport to use ?
« on: November 17, 2013, 03:04:59 PM »

I have an old DIR-655 router (Hardware version: A2, Firmware version: 1.31EU) to which I have connected a USB flash drive (16 GB) in USB-port. Now I want to connect to this flash drive from my PC running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. The PC is connected via wire to one of the LAN-ports of the router, and the router is set in Access Point-mode (which means the the WAN-port is not connected). Another of these LAN-ports are connected to the internet router via TP-Link PowerLine Adapter, and connection to the Internet works as a charm.

Question 1: Will the Shareport-functionality work when the router is set in "Access Point-mode" ?
Question 2: Which version of the Shareport Network USB Utility should I use to make this work ?

I'm also planning to connect my Canon Pixma IP5000 printer and share it using the Share port-functionality.
Does anybody have any experiences on this subject ?
