My two DCS-5009L cameras are cycling between day/night modes every 20 seconds or so. I have tried the setting on "Day Only" and "Manual" day mode. The two cameras previously did not exhibit this symptom. I believe it may have started when I updated the firmware to 1.06.02 (2015-09-09).
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Was a factory reset performed before and after updating FW then set up from scratch?
If a factory reset doesn't seem to fix this, you could go back to v1.03:

Thanks. I did not do a factory reset at firmware upgrade time but will try that now. If necessary I'll go back to 1.03. Thanks for your suggestions and the quick response.

Let us know the results.

Resetting to factory defaults stopped the clicking.
EDIT: Resetting factory defaults didn't actually stop the clicking. Lowering the Contrast setting did. See below...

Be sure to do a config save to file after all is set up.
Glad it's working now. Enjoy. ;)

Okay I was premature in claiming victory over the clicking. The constant clicking between day and night modes reappeared.
The good news is that after endless resets and different firmware versions I believe I have found the cause, which is not related to firmware versions. I can start and stop the clicking by changing the image contrast setting.
Details: The camera is pointing out a window at a fairly high-contrast natural setting. With the image contrast set at 0, the camera starts clicking and cycling between day and night modes. When I lower the contrast to -5 it stops. Once the clicking stops, I can raise the contrast back up as high as -2 without it starting again.
The brightness setting doesn't seem to matter.
Hope this helps!

So after the FW update and leaveing the default setting of 0 for image contrast, the camera will start clicking? And if you lower the setting or raise it it will stop?
I presume this issue was not seeing in the previous version of FW?

Yes, after a reset the cycling between and night modes is immediately present at contrast setting 0. Note that I am viewing a high-contrast scene (bright sky and dark grass).
I can stop the clicking by lowering the contrast to -5, after which I can raise it back up to -2 without restarting it. Raising the contrast back to 0 restarts it again.
Other notes:
This behavior was the same when I regressed to the 1.03 firmware.
This behavior is present in "day-night-auto" mode and "always-day" mode, but not in "night-only" mode (stays on night-only).

Great info. I've passed this alone to D-Link for review. Can't promise anything. Seems like there is a work around though.
