Well, that, and I think I should have the possibility to get official firmware that is made for the router I paid for. There hasn't been an update in ages and the router is still very instable.

One good thing is new DIR-655 B1 is probably Linux version then you can use 3:rd part firmware.
But that is not sold in EU country what I have seen.
I have leaved D-link for a year now. So far I'm satisfied whit my new brand, se my sign.

I have 1.34WW and live in Europe, is there any newer?

Firmware Version : 1.34EU, 2010/07/12
-
i have 1.32EU and wonder if its worth upgrading to another, if so, which one?
-
surprise, surprise, for the newer hardware revision B1 a new firmware was released a few days ago...:o\
ftp://ftp.dlink.de/dir/dir-655/driver_software/DIR-655_fw_revb_201b05_ALL_de_20101115.zip
Firmware Version: v2.01 Build: 05
Firmware Date: 15, Nov 2010
Hardware: B1
Problem Resolved:
1. Fixed: The login timeout failed. (It can access web page when key in webpage name (ex. lan.asp))
2. Fixed: There is change IP address notification when save MAC filter and Schedule.
3. Fixed: Date format display issue on Information firmware.
I am thinking about if it would be possible to upgrade to this firmware, but I guess no. It would be a wonder if the hardware revicion B1 is similar to A4 - if I would not need the router as productive, I would test it...
What do you think? Is this the end of the development for the Revision A firmware?
-
Forget it!
Firmware Bx is for new hardware (new routers) nad has nothibng to do with Ax (old routers)!
-
Thanks for the answer, It was my assumption already. Too bad!
-
I'm on A4, 1.20 firmware. It's been going really stable for one year and a couple of months.
Should I upgrade?
Reading on forums, indicates that the latest versions of firmware from D-Link are shi**ty as hell.
-
I have A5 version of hardware, and can someone please help me find the latest firmware?
I live in sweden, and this is what i found....

Do not upgrade! A4 and A5 are the most stable router. (Only problems with multicast from 239.x.x.x). H/W: Bx is not good as Ax is.
